Ghaziabad also witnessed a healthy demand for 3BHK units, which is the second most preferred category quarter-on-quarter. This demand is adequately met with builders offering 3BHK units in their projects.
In fact, a slight oversupply was noted in 3BHK housing units with supply overshooting demand by 6% during the Jan-Mar 2013 quarter. Nonetheless, both demand and supply in this category dropped marginally by 1 percent during Jan-Mar 2013 compared to the Oct-Dec 2012 quarter.
There was minimum increase in demand and supply for 1 BHK units during the Jan-Mar 2012 quarter. This category witnessed moderate demand and supply over the last two quarters.
Demand for larger homes (4 BHK and above) remained subdued during the Jan-Mar 2013 quarter. This trend was also reflected in the Oct-Dec 2012 quarter. A subdued demand led to a low supply of large unites in the market. However, supply still remained marginally higher 1% that demand.
